Paul Cabaj is an innovative and strategic leader with over two decades of service in
advancing cooperative and social impact business models across various contexts
and a range of countries.
As a Founding Partner of Demos Partners, Paul brings a strong entrepreneurial
approach in support of his deep commitment to environmental and social
responsibility. His career spans executive roles in provincial, national and
international organizations, where he has influenced policy development and
regulatory reforms in areas such as impact investing, renewable energy, affordable
housing, and sustainable agriculture.
Paul studied at Royal Roads University for a Master's in Leadership and Training
focusing on cooperative decision making, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian
Studies from the University of Alberta, which included work and study experience in
Asia.
Paul has a deep curiosity in evidence-based practice, having led or participated in a
range of research consortia which led to positive regulatory reform and innovative
social enterprise and cooperative models. Paul is fluent in French and Spanish. His
multilingual capabilities and leadership style complement Demos' vision of
collaboration and innovation, making him a key figure in driving economic and social
innovation within social impact sectors.
Paul resides in Edmonton, Alberta, where he indulges his passion for cooking,
and experimenting with cuisines from around the world. He is also an avid pickleball
player, enjoying the sport's blend of strategy and physical activity.
He actively volunteers for local organizations focused on sustainable community development,
embodying his commitment to social responsibility both professionally and
personally.
