A Bit About Andrew
Andrew Hilton brings over 30 years of experience in strategic communications,
strategy, advocacy and change management to Demos. Initially a journalist, Andrew
has since worked in government, renewable energy, urban development and
housing, infrastructure, and the circular economy – in Canada and internationally.

As the principal of Hilton Communications, he provides strategic communications,
change communications, public engagement, stakeholder management, and issues
and reputation management to purpose-driven organizations in the public and
private sector. His extensive experience collaborating with public sector
organizations, including multiple levels of government, provides his clients with deep
insights in effectively managing issues, stakeholders, media and organizational
change.
Andrew’s career includes leadership roles at Vestas Wind Systems and Waterfront
Toronto, where he played pivotal roles in opening new markets for wind energy and
developing sustainable neighbourhoods. Notably, Andrew contributed to one of
Toronto's largest and most impactful infrastructure projects, the Port Lands Flood
Protection Project; it is creating new neighbourhoods for thousands of people,
25,000 jobs, new green space and parkland, and extensive public infrastructure.
Andrew's educational background includes BAs in Political Science and Journalism
and a Certificate in Digital Strategy and Communications Management.
After having lived and worked in numerous countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and
Australia, Andrew now lives in his hometown of Stratford, Ontario with his partner
and an array of pets. He still doesn’t own a car, loves cheese and hopes to be
playing soccer until his last days. Andrew volunteers for a few local organizations
and coaches young soccer goalkeepers.
